There will be war! The "little people" will hardly notice anything so far, yet sound in the newspapers is tarter.Right in the middle and directly affected is Aleksandar, prince of the house of Habsburg, son of Franz Ferdinand, nephew of the Austrian emperor Franz-Joseph I, and his wife Sophie Chotek, a Bohemian countess. And then there's Deryn, a young subject of the British Crown, who can imagine nothing better than to fly - and is smuggling herself in the British army, disguised as a boy.
